Have you ever walked up on a hill during the night and looked down at a LDS temple all lit up?
With living in Ogden, Utah, we do just that, looking at the temple at night that is.
While walking last evening I looked west. We live way up the hill from the Ogden, Utah Temple. There it stood, all in white, with Moroni standing firm and pointing east. My heart felt like it skipped a beat as I held my breath. The sight of the temple was breathtaking! There it stood, in the downtown area of Ogden where there is not much to look at with all the torn down buildings now gone from the near by landscape, but the temple grabs at your spiritual being and holds on tight.
With each step taken, I anticipated the tears welling up, I basked in the love for my Father in Heaven, and for the love we share in the gospel.
Commitments are made, promises kept, as we prepare for these latter days.
Although the air was cool last night, after the rains, I felt so warm inside. I wear my garments and sense them about my body. They envelope me as I step further from my home, and how divinely blessed I feel for being a part of this dispensation.
Tomorrow, September 25, will be the anniversary of when Jim and I first met. The years have passed quickly, and as I look to the west, where the temple reminds me of times gone by, my heart feels warm knowing that we married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 25, 1973, and those commitments and promises are still held tight within my bosom. I thank the Lord as I turn and take a step towards home. Another step towards an eternity of blessings.

Wow everyone, time does go quickly! My husband and I have been down with some really rotten virus, and to say the least, I have not been walking. I could hardly breath for almost three weeks. Asthma and walking does not go well together when you are sick.
So, forgive my procrastinating, but it honestly was not meant to happen.
