August 30, 2008

Last evening we took off for Walmart for a fun walk around the store. Of course we stopped but a few times to find something to buy, but in the end, we had put in close to 2 miles of walking.
Then, this morning, being Saturday, I was able to get out much earlier than usual. I leashed up TEEKO and headed for the great outdoors.
My thoughts centered around the mountains, and how majestic they truly are.
What exactly happened to bring those up and standing so tall? Was it an earthquakes, millions of years ago, or was it volcanic in nature? Although I am not aware of any volcanoes in This area of Ogden, Utah, I have often read how they were responsible for many natural phenomenon that has created our area today.
As I walked along, talking to my Pomeranian, I told him about all the deep crevices in the mountain faces, and how God had to have had a special hand in making the colors so glorious. The Wasatch Mountains are truly magnificent. They stands so tall, and have colors of greens, browns, purples, reds and blues that only God knows what put the colors there.
I put in a mile this morning, and felt wonderful (except my legs and back), when we returned home. We sat on our front lawn swing for a few minutes before returning to our very busy Saturday.
So, how was your day?

Walking For Your Life

This is my walking challenge for each and every one of you!
Each and every day do your best to walk. If it's outside, or there in your livingroom.
Once in the morning and once at night is great, but do not be be so zealous and over do it.
Start a little at a time, and build it up. When I first started I literally had not walked long distances for several years. I 'tried' to go a long ways, but that was not going to happen!
We have a double driveway. So, the first day I walked the length of the driveway, and then increased each day. Some days I do not walk, and others, I walk as much as I can, aiming for a mile twice a day. Soem days I meet the challange, and other days I don't even come close. Do what makes you feel good inside and out.
So, I want to challenge all of my friends to join me in this cyber challenge!
As you walk, pick a subject to put your mind to. I used the subject of butterflies one day, and as I walked, I thought of everything I could about butterflies, to how much they touch my life to how they develop and become such a gorgeous thing.
Write all you can and add your own thoughts.
So, the challenge begins TODAY - August 29th, 2008.
I challenge each and every one of us to walk for your life!!!
